15 Reasons Why The 90s Were Better Than The 80s

A lot of people rave about the 80s. However, we can all agree that we became more advanced in the 90s in many ways.  As nostalgic as our 80s childhood was, we were glad to be more technologically advanced in the 90s which helped us to become even more mature than ever before.  For that reason, we give you these 15 examples of why the 90s were better than the 80s:

1.Video Games.

This was the most obvious advancement for us.  We went from simple, plain graphics to witnessing a major overhaul in the industry!

2. Fashion

The 80s was a horrible decade for fashion and so, we didn’t have that far of a stretch to improve our look in the 90s.

3. Music.

While the 80s produced some great rock and metal bands, we were glad when grunge rock came along in the 90s.

4. Hair

Finally! The big hair trend from the 80s was over. This style is more classic and will last throughout the ages.

5. TV comedies.

Comedies went from being about “something” to being about “nothing”.  It was hilarious! We got to laugh about the little things.

6. TV Dramas.

These were great shows that really captured our attention.  A new wave of intensity to explore in this decade.

7. Movies.

The 90s hit us with some really unique films like Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, Titanic, Schindler’s List, and Toy Story.

8. Madonna.

She outgrew her silly girl stage and gave us a more Vogue appearance.

9. Compact Discs.

It was easier to burn music onto CDs and so you no longer had to wait for your songs on the radio to record it on a tape.  We never went back to cassettes after this.

10. Cartoons.

The cartoons in the 90s had a broader appeal. Especially due to its adult humor.  Now, the whole family could watch them together.

11. Toys.

90s toys had an upgrade and we were glad for it. We like things like Furby, Tamagotchis, Super Soakers, and Pog!

12. Hip-hop.

This was a new style of music that started in the 90s and has been wildly popular ever since!

13. Computers.

In the 90s, everyone was getting a computer and this was one of the things we did on it.  Played solitaire.

14. Cell phones.

Finally, cells phones were more accessible to more people and we could actually call each other! Before, if you had a cell phone, it was HUGE and you had no one to call if they were away from home.

15. Disney Movies.

The decade of the Lion King and Aladdin. Great stuff!
